With the right mindset, I have discovered opportunities within challenges, believing I can achieve anything I set my mind to. This determination and perseverance have given me a clear direction in life, striving to help others in need and make a lasting positive impact.

 

From the outset, my childhood posed challenges that might have deterred many. However, rather than succumbing to the circumstances, I chose a different path—a path of determination and resilience. Not having the privilege of a set roadmap for success, I embraced the opportunity to forge my own. A defining moment in my early years was the decision to enter college at the age of 16. By the time I was 22, I had graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree. 

 

The success I found in academics symbolized a triumph over the limitations I faced growing up. It was a realization that, despite not being set up for success, I could create my own narrative and overcome the challenges that life threw my way. Whatever I wanted to do with my life, I knew I could achieve it. This mindset became the defining factor in future endeavors.

 

One of the most transformative experiences of my life occurred during a trip to Cambodia. Witnessing firsthand the harsh realities of child exploitation, I was deeply moved. The organization we worked with would help these children, providing them with food and education during the day. These basic necessities proved vital, offering hope and elevation out of bad circumstances.

 

This journey became a catalyst for a newfound passion—it was a moment of clarity that fueled a desire to make a difference, not just in my own life but in the lives of those around me. After college, I worked at a foster care agency, wanting to help kids right here in Washington. Serving people in a position of need became my ultimate drive.

 

An unexpected opportunity led to a major career shift, working in cybersecurity. Despite lacking prior knowledge in the field, my innate ability to connect with people and deliver exceptional service garnered quick success in account executive and client success roles. I ascended through the ranks swiftly, becoming a speaker at events, talking on podcasts and writing articles about our company. Servicing high-net-worth clientele, I found myself at the forefront of a burgeoning career, one that offered financial stability and professional acclaim.

 

However, beneath the surface of success, I grappled with a profound sense of unfulfillment. The monotony of a high-paying job failed to resonate with my inner values and passions. The COVID era brought about introspection, prompting me to reevaluate the trajectory of my career. Fueled by a desire for purpose and meaning, I turned to real estate as the avenue through which I could align my professional pursuits with my intrinsic values.

 

In real estate, I discovered not only a new career but a profound sense of fulfillment. The autonomy afforded by this industry allowed me to forge genuine connections with clients and help them through one of the most significant decisions of their lives. Everyone deserves a home—the stability homeownership can provide is life-changing. 

 

This newfound sense of purpose eclipsed the financial success of my previous career. Real estate became a canvas for me to paint a legacy, not just for myself but for my daughter, Samantha. As a single dad, I want to show her that with the right mindset, you really can achieve anything. For me, real estate is a deliberate choice to leave a meaningful and lasting impact, a legacy I can be proud of. 

 

Outside of work, it is a passion of mine to help fellow men rise up to the responsibilities of life and set themselves up for success. I volunteer at Kiros Network in their youth chapter and also founded Eastside Business Network to bring local professionals together.

 

On this journey, I have come to realize that true success cannot be solely measured by one's financial accomplishments. Rather, it is achieved through finding one's passion and purpose in life.
